Jon's Job
Six weeks ago Jon's boss gave him the heads up that the company wasn't doing too well. They had lost a lot of clients and therefore were needing to do some cut backs. Jon was told October 15th would be his last day. Of course we were shocked, but grateful that they gave him 6 weeks notice to give a little more time to find a job. He immediately started looking for another job. He has filled out over 100 applications nationwide, and out of all those he has only had 3 interviews (2 in Boise, 1 in Salem). Yesterday he was offered the job position in Salem, Oregon. They gave him the option to begin Monday. However, with Ethan's surgery scheduled for Tuesday, he opted to start Wednesday. We feel fortunate that he was able to find a job in this economy and also that he will be able to start immediately with this other job. This does mean that big changes will be happening for our household, as we will be moving to Salem after the holidays. Jon will commute for now until we get our ducks in a row. We will definitely miss it here. We've been in this area for 11 years and in our ward for 9 years and in our home for 7 of those years. We've made some beautiful friendships and have come to call this area home. We're nervous and excited all at the same time to find out what the future holds for us in Salem.
