Preschool Days

This year we are doing a preschool co-op. There are eight of us in the group and we're split into 4 teams of 2. Preschool rotates to 4 homes, spending 1 month at each home. The teachers take turns being lead teacher for 2 weeks, and then assistant for 2 weeks. It works great! This past month preschool has been at my house. My teaching partner, Kim, and I have been team teaching preschool for almost 5 years. The first two years we did as a business from my home and the last three we have enjoyed doing a co-op instead. Needless to say, we have the system down and work well together. We have so much fun too. The last topic this week was, "All About Me." Although it wasn't in the lesson for the day, we remembered doing this creative art project in one of our first years teaching and loved it and decided to pull it together quickly for today. The kids loved it, and we enjoyed making the funny "Gooney" looking creatures too.

First, they get their body traced and have to hold still like a statue, there's always giggles during this part.

Then they color and cut out their face parts and glue them on.

Next they get to paint on some colorful clothes using their hands. They especially love this part. Who wouldn't love to smear paint around with your hands, right?

Hailey was so tickled with her "self-portrait." It's currently hanging on our porch, perfect for Halloween, right? We love preschool!
