The kids found this little guy outside and of course wanted to keep him.
They found a home for him in the recently emptied fish tank. He seemed to like being perched on his tower.
The kids were fascinated with watching him and even caught some bugs and flies for him. He didn't want to eat any of them though. After almost 2 days in the tank he started to not look very healthy, so I suggested we take him back to the wild so he could get food for himself.Goodbye Mr. Frog. Thanks for your short stay.

Well hey, he lasted longer than our wild salamander of last summer...he was looking awfully (almost dead) sickly after less than 12 hours. Ethan told me that he "swam right to the bottom" when they released him into the local pond.
