While Grandma Flake was here last week she did some projects with the kids. Hailey saw some fabric in my fabric box and really wanted to make a purse for herself and a matching one for her doll. Grandma Flake took the time to do it all with her, from ironing out the fabric to sewing all the seams by hand. It was a very educational experience for Hailey.

Zachary wanted to join in the fun as well. He chose some fabric to make a pillow for his boy doll Bobby. Yes, he has a doll, but it does very boyish things and allows him to feel included with his sisters in their imaginative play.

He also sewed all the seams by hand and stuffed the pillow with batting.

Here are the kids tickled pink with the things they just made.

Thank you Grandma Flake for taking the time and having the patience to teach them how to hand sew. They made some great memories with you.

i think its great that zachary has a boy doll! i think in a way you're helping to encourage boys to be good fathers by not discouraging that kind of thing! :) way to go on their sewing projects!
Grayson is on his second baby. The first one was from $tree and its head is falling off, sad. We got a totally plastic baby (water baby) this time around so no amount of bashing should take off its head. He loves that thing and takes it everywhere. Zack was resistant at first but I reminded him someday G will be a father and we would like him to be nurturing! :) Love that they hand sewed, a dying art!
Wow-impressive! I love all your cute pics you've been posting of the new baby and your other cute kids. Glad you're enjoying them!
